Rowan ACM

For this fall 2016 semester and spring 2017 semester, I am the President of the Rowan University ACM chapter. Previously I was the Vice-President and assistant head to our game design team.

As President, I’ve made a number of boosts to both our membership attendance as well as our prestige as both a student organization and platform for computer science professional development, organizing presentations for meetings and events such as MLH’s Local Hack Day here at Rowan.

One thing that separates our organization from other student-run organizations on campus is our weekly meeting structure. As I got more involved in the growing Rowan University Computer Science department, I and others felt that there was a current lack of opportunities and support structures for students to work on extra-curricular group projects. Formerly the vice-president for our chapter, I helped create a number of committees where students could learn about specific sub-fields of computer science.
